New Delhi : Gujarat will follow the path shown by the Prime Minister and the State will become  a role model for the development and good governance  for other states. Gujarat has consistently benefited from the guidance of visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, while speaking at the 7th  meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi,  he highlighted the achievements and progress  of the State Government in Urban Development, Education and Agriculture sectors.

Gujarat has been ranked first in various categories by Good Governance Index, Logistics, Performance Index, State Energy and Climate Index, Export Preparedness Index and SDG India Index 3.0 released by Government of India. Many ambitious projects like GIFT city, Dream City, 30 GW, Hybrid Renewable Energy Park, Dholera SIR and Statue of Unity have been taken up under the Prime Minister’s guidance, he apprised.

 

Gujarat Chief Minister pointed out that his government has given top priority to various welfare activities through well-planned urban development planning and citizen-oriented governance through rapid development of cities. Gujarat has prepared a three-tier urban development roadmap for cities, he added.

 

Online Development Permit System (ODPS 2.0) has been developed in all the cities of Gujarat for processing of speedy and unmanned plan approval. Around 1 lakh development clearances  have been granted in the last two years. This has led to transparency and speed  in the process of granting development permissions

 

The World Heritage Plan of Ahmedabad city was prepared and as a result of that, the city of Ahmedabad was declared as India’s first World Heritage City by UNESCO in the year 2017. Again, in July 2022, Times magazine has included Ahmedabad city into the list of the World’s 50 Greatest Destination which is proud for State as well as country, he informed

 

Speaking on New Education Policy, Chief Minister stated that Gujarat has already taken a lead by constituting Task Forces in the year 2020 itself for proper implementation of various recommendations made under the NEP 2020. Education has always been a priority in Gujarat. Since long,  State has taken various measures for universal access to all children for quality education. The state has achieved great progress in school education through various projects. Apart from this, more than 5.72 lakh children including 1775 Children with Special Needs were enrolled in schools under this program during 2022-23.

 

He further informed that the state has a Sameeksha Kendra functioning since 2019 which has been converted to fully data-driven Vidya Sameeksha Kendra since 2021 as per NEP-2020 recommendation of technology based monitoring system. The state has also launched G-Shala App which is a first-of-its-kind e-Content App with Learning Management System in Gujarati language

 

In a pioneering effort of quality in higher education, a total of 22 universities and 467 colleges have been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), accreditation and 59 programmes in higher educational institutions in the year 2021-22 and 59 programmes have been approved by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for technical education. For the last 4 years, most of the educational institutions of Gujarat are participating in the state ranking GSIRF and becoming more qualified. That is why many institutions of Gujarat have successfully made it to the top 100 in the NIRF rankings as well. Gujarat is always committed in providing futuristic quality education to its children and make them progress under the Amrit-Kaal of our country.

 

Gujarat has taken a long stride to promote as well as to achieve crop diversification in concurrence with the policy of Government of India. Gujarat CM outlined agricultural revolution and stated that Gujarat is  leading in the country in the terms of agricultural development, animal husbandry and milk production.

 

As a result of various crop diversification initiatives taken in the State, crop diversification has been observed to a large extent in horticultural crops. During last 25 years the horticultural area has increased from 4.80 lakh hectares to 20 lakh hectares as on today. An overall increase in area of horticultural crops is about 300 percent.

 

Under Digital Agriculture, Gujarat has implemented various welfare schemes through I-KHEDUT portal since 2014-15 which facilitates for online applications to sanction and payment to the farmer. About 61 lakh farmers and cattle breeders are covered so far. A project of digital crop area estimation is prepared under National e-Governance Project-Agriculture by State Government. Government of India has emphasized to promote the use of Nano urea and drone technology in agriculture sector. Accordingly, Gujarat also announced a special scheme for the same. In this year, a target to cover 1.40 lakh acre was set up by state Government, out of which 50,000 acre area will be covered in collaboration with IFFCO for spraying of Nano urea through drone technology.

 

To promote natural farming, a curriculum has been developed in order to introduce the subject of Natural Farming in the State Agricultural Universities at the graduate & post graduate level which is going to be started from this year. The training has been provided to 5.50 lakh farmers so far regarding Natural Farming through various programs/Agricultural fairs/Trainings/ Seminars in the state. Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat has encouraged and provided guidance to more than 3.50 lakh farmers of the state to adopt Natural Farming through BISAG and various other programs..
