Various departments of the Central and State Governments are participating in the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav through socially useful activities. The Vadodara Circle Office of the Archaeological Survey of India has organized Tricolor illumination along with hoisting of the National Flag at important monuments on 15th August.
As part of it cleanliness campaigns have also been conducted at ancient monuments with the support of schools and villagers. On Friday a similar drive was organised at Hira Bhaghol in Dabhoi and Shiv Mandir in Goraj where villagers and students pariticipate enthusiastically in cleaning the areas.
Archeology Officer Rashmi Sinha explained the importance of preserving ancient monuments to them. Village sarpanch Ambarishbhai and others supported the drive. Rizwan Patel and his team did the necessary planning on behalf of the department. Earlier, a cleanliness drive was also conducted at Borsad’s artistic Vanjari Vav.
