Vadodara city is known as garba capital and as Navratri Festival is round the corner, Bela Tewar got an idea to use her skill to design Chaniya Choli for people on Navratri. “I was very fond of drawing since childhood and also got state level recognition. I also have a good knowledge of sketch and colours. My mother also stitch our clothes and we wear them. So there was always an instinct in me to do something,” said Bela.

It all started after Bela Tewar stitched a designer outfit of her daughter for a family function and received appreciation from family members and friends. They pushed her to turn her hobby into business and with the support from family she started to design outfits for people and selling at affordable rates.

“I started the new business six months ago and first got to know the market trend, kind of designs the youths like and collected the materials from market. From the start i want to give affordable dresses to the people and hence working on to give new designs to them. I use mix match style and match other fabrics with cotton to give outfits a trendy look which can be wearable throughout the year specially on family occasions,” said Bela.

Moreover, Bela employs seven other women along with herself and all these women are making Chaniya Cholis without repeating the designs. They have till date make around 35 outfits and none of them is repeated as far as design is concerned.

The mix match designer outfits prepared by them are beautiful in looks and easy to wear. Using cotton, Rayon, Maslin Cotton fabrics they make outfits with such a design that can be wearable in Navratri as well as throughout the year in special events.

So far, 35 different designs have been made in Chania Choli without repeating a single design. In which 8 outfits have been sold with the cooperation of family and friends. The outfits carries trendy designs which attracts the youth and to people who can’t afford costly designer outfits available in the market. All these designer outfits can be seen in “Mayne _creations” on social media. Bela Tewar set the range from 2500 to 6000 and hopes to create her own brand in next five years.
