182 newly elected MLAs in Gujarat Legislative Assembly are going to take oath today. Protem Speaker has been appointed by Governor Acharya Devvrat. Senior MLA Yogesh Patel was sworn in as Protem Speaker today at Raj Bhavan. A leader who has been a MLA for a long time in the Legislative Assembly is appointed as Protem Speaker.
Protem Speaker administers oath to the elected MLAs of the Assembly after which the Chairman of the Assembly is appointed by the MLAs. The swearing-in ceremony of MLAs including the Chief Minister will begin at 12 noon on Monday in the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan. The pro tem speaker will administer oath to other MLAs in the assembly. After the election, the oath taking program of MLAs is being held. On Monday morning, all MLAs will take oath in the Vidhan Sabha. There will be a meeting with MLAs in the assembly hall, in which Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, BJP state president CR Patil, Rishikesh Patel and Dandak chief Balakrishna Shukla will discuss with the MLA.
